London’s Pub Theatre Seasonal Shows to See 2022 Recommendation
Returning home from his usual hectic week on Christmas Eve, investment banker Ebeneezer Scrooge wishes to spend the festive season working, drinking brandy, and smoking the festivities away. For what is Christmas other than a time for picking a man’s pocket every twenty fifth of December? But an eerie encounter with his deceased mentor Jacob Marley spirals Scrooge into chaos, meaning he must confront the three things he wishes to avoid: his past, his present and his future.
Scrooge is a modern adaption of Dicken’s classic story ‘A Christmas Carol’, presented as a one-man performance. Combining the mediums of live-performance, physical theatre and multi-media, Scrooge sheds a new light on this festive story and challenges our perceived notions of who the iconic character truly is.
